This week we're so excited to spotlight founder and creator, Sabra Seligman! Sabra is the woman behind Plantformation, a Latina-owned and operated innovative 8-week online course designed to teach you the basics of plant-based nutrition. From healing journal prompts to more than 60 easy to make recipes, Plantformation focuses on promoting health and love in plant-based products. Check out what Sabra has to say about her journey as an entrepreneur so far!

What is your business and what inspired you to start it?

I've always been in wellness, for the last 20 years. I recently sold my Miami vegan restaurant and now I am focused on my online nutrition program called Plantformation, where I teach students how to transform with plants. It's a digital program and level one intro to all things needed to understand and transition to a whole foods-plant based diet. Please see more HERE.

I also do one-on-one coaching for women and host yearly plant based retreats in Tulum, Mexico.

I as well consult for wellness start ups and for entrepreneurs trying to fully integrate and transform their wellness ideas or business into a bigger scale project.

I am a certified natural health care practitioner, holistic nutritionist, and plant based chef.

How do you overcome challenges and stay motivated?

Life you can flow with it and face the challenges and changes, or stay stuck and get frustrated. When you are a business owner you learn you need to flow like water, as even when you fully plan things come up that are unexpected.

Gratitude keeps me motivated and the passion for teaching others about wellness and the power they have to heal themselves.

What is an important lesson you’ve learned as a female latinx entrepreneur?

Being bilingual makes everything better, you can get closer to people and clients when you speak their mother language. I'm lucky to live in Miami and enjoy speaking Spanish, my mother's main language.

The lesson I learned is to make sure you are communicating with people as if they know nothing you are talking to them about, and always bring in solutions, not problems— this way you can walk them through what you really want them to do, understand or change, and they will relate to you.

Not everyone comprehends things in the same way...so common sense is not common sense for everyone. Take it down a step so you can relate to where others are, not to where you are.

Best advice you’ve received and would like to share?

Never accept to do everything by yourself, no one is an expert at everything. Delegate what you're not great with and focus on what you're amazing at. Team work makes the dream work and getting expert advice certainly makes things flow easier, quicker, and with great positive results.
